FAQ/AFTERCARE
AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
Do NOT...
• Scratch, peel, pick, or rub your tattoo
• Swim, use Jacuzzis, hot tubs, or venture into the ocean for the first 2 weeks
• Let your tattooed skin dry out
• Allow others to touch your fresh tattoo
• Permit your pet to touch or lick your fresh tattoo
• Soak in a hot tub or go swimming
• Expose your tattoo to the sun for the first 2-3 weeks
• Wear tight clothing over your new tattoo, such as bra straps or waistbands
• Exercise in the first few days
• Shave on or near your new tattoo
• Hesitate to see a doctor if your tattoo feels or looks infected – seek medical attention ASAP
• Listen to the advice of friends or family. Always stick to your artist’s instructions
2-4 hours after leaving the tattoo shop, gently remove the bandage your tattoo artist put on. Your new tattoo needs to breathe.
• Remove bandage and don’t use it anymore.
• Use cold to lukewarm water when washing your tattoo and tattoo cleanser or neutral soap. Hot water could potentially harm the tattooed area.
• It’s good practice to pat your tattoo dry with kitchen paper.
• Wash your hands thoroughly before touching your tattoo. You should treat it like an open wound for the first two days, susceptible to all sorts of germs and bacteria, so you should always practice good hygiene.
• Use only your hands to wash your tattoo. Towels, washcloths, or loofahs are too harsh and will exfoliate your raw skin.
• Make sure your tattoo is completely dry before you apply tattoo cream
• Apply a thin, even layer of tattoo cream on your tattoo for 2-3 weeks
• You can take a shower next day, as normally but keep it quick the first few days!
Note: Always follow the advice given by our tattoo artist for the best results.
Cleansing: Clean your piercings twice a day with mild soap and clean water. Do not remove earrings during cleansing.
Shower/Bathing: During showering or washing your hair, use mild soap and gently dry with Kleenex or Q-tip.
Changing Earrings: After approximately 6 weeks, you can change your earrings. Always wash your hands and the ear before changing.
Attention to Care: Always wear earrings, as the hole may narrow. Also, be careful when changing them to avoid injuring the area.
Seasonal Caution: Protect your ears from chemicals and water during the application of makeup, spray, perfume, and bathing in a pool, lake, or sea.
Allergy Check: During the first year, be vigilant for allergies and prefer skin-friendly jewelry.
Follow these instructions to keep your piercings healthy and radiant.
